Sundance Power Systems, Inc. was recently notified that we are now officially designated as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) with the Statewide Uniform Certification Program under the NC Department of Administration.
Sundance has been operating as a
woman-owned business for the past 17 years since its incorporation in 1995.
Earlier this year, the Management Team decided to pursue this status as there
are now considerable renewable energy projects and expanded bid opportunities
in the State. “While Sundance Power Systems has always been a woman-owned
business, it is incredibly gratifying after all these years to be acknowledged
by the state of North Carolina
as such,” reports co-founder and owner Sierra
Hollister.
Sundance Power Systems was
founded with the mission to offer renewable energy systems as a means of
addressing energy sustainability and its impact on our environment, and has
grown into a full-service renewable energy provider serving residential,
commercial, and institutional sectors. The company has installed renewable
energy systems in all 26 counties in Western North
Carolina and throughout the region. Recent municipal projects
include a solar electric system for Raleigh’s
Wilders Grove Solid Waste Services Facility and solar thermal systems on four
of the city’s fire stations, as well as two in the City of Asheville. Other installations include
systems for Appalachian State University, Duke
University, Clemson, The NC Botanical
Garden, and Asheville’s
Green Restaurant Initiative.
Sundance Power Systems is
certified through the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners
(NABCEP) and holds an H-1 Mechanical license, NC Plumbing and Electrical
licenses, and an unlimited GC license through our subsidiary Sundance Power, LLC.
It is headquartered near Asheville, NC, with offices in Raleigh
and Greenville, SC.
