2013 Twelfth Night Celebration - January 6

The time is near to officially kick off the 2013 Asheville Mardi Gras season! Each year the season kicks off at the Twelfth Night Celebration on January 6th (12 nights after Christmas), at 6:00 pm, at Eleven on Grove. The cake will be cut at 8:00 pm.
On this magical night, the new King and Queen of Asheville's 2013 Mardi Gras season will be crowned. They will pass out a slice of King Cake (provided by Short Street Cakes) to all who are looking for their chance to become the next King or Queen. If you find the baby in your slice you will pick your royal consort, and the two of you will lead the Asheville Mardi Gras Parade as King and Queen on Bacchus Sunday, February 10th

Welcome in this Mardi Gras season at Eleven on Grove at 6 p.m. Live music will fill the air as they bring in the season in true Asheville Mardi Gras fashion. This event is also a great time to renew your membership or become a new member of Asheville Mardi Gras! Your 2013 membership not only helps support the Asheville Mardi Gras parade, ball and all other AMG events but will also get you in free to the coveted Cajun Cookoff on Sunday, January 19th! You must be a member to eat a piece of King Cake. As with any AMG event, costumes are always encouraged, but never required.
