Blue Sky MD adds new provider to growing practice



Dr. David Lamond, founder and owner of Blue Sky MD, a locally owned clinic offering weight control, aesthetics and hormone therapy, announced today that Dr. Rachel Brown, D.O., joined their practice on May 1.  
 
Dr. Brown, a highly respected family practice doctor serving the Transylvania County community since 2007, will work at the Asheville Blue Sky MD clinic where she will specialize in Weight Control and Hormone Replacement Therapy. Since moving to Brevard in 2007, Dr. Brown has practiced at the Brevard Family Practice, finishing up six years there this month before transitioning to Blue Sky MD.

Dr. Rachel Brown is Board Certified in Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Miami. After receiving her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Brown completed her internship and residency in family medicine at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan where she served as Chief Resident from 2006-2007.  

“I am excited about joining the optimal health team at Blue Sky MD. I look forward to being able to enhance my scope of care in hormone replacement therapy and weight control,” said Brown.   

Dr. Rachel Brown is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, and North Carolina Association of Family Physicians.  When she is not working, she enjoys time with family, reading, hiking, SCUBA, and knitting.
