"Small Talks" Bus Tour to stop in Asheville; shines spotlight on local entrepreneur scene

Venture Asheville and Turnstone (a division of Steelcase dedicated to small businesses and entrepreneurs) have teamed up to bring the Small Talks bus tour to downtown Asheville on May 20th.

So what is Small Talks? Far from meaningless chatter, these knowledge sharing events are curated by Turnstone and take a deep dive into relevant topics and real issues facing small business owners and entrepreneurs. It will be the tour’s first, but not last, visit to Asheville.

Said Pam Lewis, Venture Asheville’s Director of Entrepreneurship, “Venture Asheville's mission is simple: ‘a place to connect with the entrepreneur scene.’ We are beyond thrilled to collaborate with Turnstone as they have helped facilitate so many conversations across the country around the topic of entrepreneurship.”

First the bus. This isn’t your ordinary bus. Think old school basketball team bus turned into a decked out office on wheels. That’s exactly what it is. What’s on the bus? In addition to local goodies and refreshments, a group of Asheville experts who are donating their time and resources to give advice to other entrepreneurs on everything from legal issues to public relations.

The bus will be parked at Pack Square and be open for business from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. There will be representatives from CFO Consultants, Adapt Public Relations, Integritive 2 and Ward & Smith Attorneys at Law available. Appointment scheduling is available through Eventbrite at http://failsmartasheville.eventbrite.com/#

At 6:00 p.m. the Small Talk continues on the fourth floor of the Wells Fargo Building with a peer-to-peer discussion titled “Fail Smart.”  Facilitated by Turnstone’s Michael Bistline, the panel will consist of local entrepreneurs sharing their experiences launching and growing a business and what did and didn’t work. Included on the panel will be representatives from Huddy Works, New Song Music, Echo Mountain Recording Studio, Green Man Brewing and The Market Place.

Space is limited for the Fail Smart discussion so please RSVP through Eventbrite at http://failsmartasheville.eventbrite.com/#

All events are free.
