NC Dept of Cultural Resources seeking sponsorships for 50th North Carolina Award ceremony

It is an exciting year to celebrate the 50th North Carolina Award Ceremony.  Governor Pat McCrory values this prestigious award and hopes to take this ceremony to new heights this year in order to celebrate the great accomplishments among the citizens of North Carolina. The invitation is extended for area businesses to join this celebration by being a Sponsor for the 50th ceremony.

The North Carolina Awards were instituted by the 1961 General Assembly. The Award is the highest civilian award presented by the state of North Carolina. Sometimes referred to as the "Nobel Prize of North Carolina", the award has been bestowed upon up to nine individuals each year since 1964. Awards are given for notable lifetime achievement and significant contributions to the State of North Carolina in the areas of science, public service, literature and fine arts.

This year’s North Carolina Award Ceremony will honor our current recipients, but also those who have been previously recognized. Notable award winners in previous years include: Bill Friday, Bob Timberlake, Maya Angelou, Gordon Hanes, Elizabeth Dole, Charles Sanders and Andy Griffith.  Plans include a reception on November 21st, 2013 at the Executive Mansion for recipients with platinum and gold sponsorships.  This special gathering will be followed by a magnificent dinner and ceremony at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in order to accommodate a larger audience for this year.

The sponsorship levels are Platinum at $25,000, Gold at $10,000 and Silver at $3,500. As a sponsor, you will be highly recognized.  There will be private time with the Governor, statewide media appreciation, complimentary ad space, and a very special evening honoring those who have given so much to our state.  As a sponsor you will extend your hand to North Carolina and its outstanding history of service, science and the arts.  It is these collaborations that make the most of our State’s collective, creative and business resources.

This is an outstanding opportunity to celebrate North Carolina, and its heroes and brilliant minds.  For further information on this sponsorship opportunities and benefits, please contact Ruth Turner Camp, Manager of Business Development and Special Events: (office)  919-807-7391    (mobile)  919-622-8191     email:  ruth.camp@ncdcr.gov
