"Way of Nature/Way of Grace" is new exhibit at Asheville Area Arts Council

Featuring the work of 18 visual artists, WAY OF NATURE/WAY OF GRACE explores the unsettled, and often unsettling, relationship between humans and the other life of the planet, and probes the conflicts and tensions inherent in a relationship that is often mired in the space between captured love and cruel domination.

Curated by Ralph Burns as part of the Asheville Area Arts Council's exhibition program "Point of View", the exhibit includes work by Rob Amberg, Tim Barnwell, Mike Belleme, Pilar Belmonte, Erin Brethauer, Brigid Burns, Margaret Couch Cogswell, Holly de Saillan, Scott Hubener, Ben Nixon, Holly Roberts, Carrie Tomberlin, Eric Tomberlin, Leigh Mitchell, Steve Mann, Dana Moore, Matt Rose, Jon Sours, David C. Stewart.

In writing about the exhibition, Burns noted that he is “drawn to artists who see out of the corners of their eyes, who move beyond craft and process and use their work to comment upon and confront the dilemmas of existence and the perils of consciousness”. The exhibition WAY OF NATURE / WAY OF GRACE runs November 8 through 30.

Asheville Area Arts Council Gallery hours Tuesday.-Saturday., 11:00am-4:00pm.
