JOB SUMMARY:
This position performs complex engineering design and analyses in the nuclear fuel manufacturing and processing industry, and provides technical leadership/ project manager in design, development, performance and delivery of technical products, processes, services that require integration of team efforts across multi-functional groups.  The principle engineer effectively defines, implements, and drives projects to successful completion.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applies technical experience and engineering problem-solving capabilities to solve complex problems

Job Qualifications / Requirements
·         EDUCATION:
B.S. / B.E. Engineering (Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
·         EXPERIENCE:
Six (6) to Ten (10) years engineering experience required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
•Learn responsibilities and accountabilities associated with process engineering, processing and laboratory functions as appropriate with assignments
•Develop a working knowledge of key NFS programs such as Configuration Management, Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA), Nuclear Criticality Safety, Material Control & Accountability, Internally Authorized Change (IAC), Safety and Safeguards Review Council (SSRC), etc.
•Develop a working knowledge of process / product technical requirements and safety / regulatory requirements
•Assist/ support to senior personnel with project assignments, progressing in degree of difficulty and responsibility

MC&A Test Monitor Coordinator - 1663
Description:
Job Summary:
Coordinate and administer the process monitoring and item monitoring programs to meet NRC and NFS requirements.  Provide a centralized coordination of all departments monitoring activities. This coordination effort involves the Production, Quality, Control, Laboratory, Process Engineering, Records Control, Compliance and Systems Applications, Research and Development, Information Services, and Materials Departments.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and coordinate an MC&A Process Monitoring Program to include alarm resolution
  • Maintain and coordinate an MC&A Item Monitoring Program to include alarm resolution
  • Maintain and coordinate an MC&A Program to rapidly assess the validity of alleged thefts
  • Assist in the program to incorporate checks and balances in the MC&A system sufficient to control the rate of human errors in material control and accounting information
  • Investigate excessive rates of false alarms associated with control unit tests and recommend corrective action to improve process variability or reduce the effect of measurement biases
  • Prepare MC&A procedures in area of responsibility to satisfy regulatory requirements
  • Participate in NRC inspections of item and process monitoring
  • Establish and maintain a records system in area of responsibility associated with process and item monitoring that ensures sufficient protection and redundancy to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist in the planning and analyses of process and engineering studies related to mixing and sampling tests for control unit measurement systems
  • Evaluate sequences of material control test results from each unit process to determine if they indicate a pattern of losses or gains that is of safeguards significance
Job Qualifications / Requirements
·         Education Requirements:
·         Bachelors of Science or related technical field required plus 6-8 years experience in SNM Control, Process Engineering or Lab.
