Two new Diamond Brand Outdoors stores opening in Asheville

Diamond Brand’s devoted shoppers can now enjoy the best of outdoor gear and holiday shopping at two very special stores in new Asheville locations.  On Thursday, November 20th, Diamond Brand Outdoors will open at the Aloft Downtown Hotel, 51 Biltmore Avenue.  A second Diamond Brand Outdoors will open on Friday, November 21st in South Asheville’s Biltmore Parkway Centre at 1378 Hendersonville Road next to Liberty Bicycles and The Fresh Market.  Official Grand Opening events will take place the following week, December 5th at the South Asheville location and at the Aloft Downtown on December 11th.

Each new Diamond Brand location store will feature the most coveted, quality outdoor brands, from Patagonia, The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Mountain Khakis, Keen and more, while offering a unique environment that caters to shoppers’ spirit of adventure.  The new downtown store at the Aloft Hotel will offer an expanded array of quality outdoor apparel, footwear and everything needed for a day outdoors or an exciting night out in Asheville.   Created as an “adventure boutique,” the new downtown location draws on Asheville’s natural advantage while offering a more urban flavor and convenience for local residents and tourists alike.

John McKibbon, developer and owner of the Aloft, is excited that Diamond Brand Outdoors is locating on the first floor of the downtown hotel.  “Diamond Brand not only has great clothes and gear, they will be assisting our guests in finding wonderful outdoor adventures, adding to the experience of visiting Asheville.”

The new Diamond Brand Outdoors at Biltmore Parkway Center has been designed as a true “heritage outfitter,” where shoppers can gear up for the best of outdoors adventures.  Throughout the store in specialty corners, shoppers can test state-of-the-art equipment for everything from kayaking in Nantahala National Forest to world-class camping in the Great Smoky Mountains. Mountain Hardwear, The North Face and Patagonia, among other brands, will be available in wide selections for a variety of adventurous lifestyles.

“It’s no surprise that a WNC company whose business and people are so long and deeply rooted in our mountains would be recognized as one of the nation’s top outdoor retailers,” said Jack Cecil, president of Biltmore Farms.  “We’re proud to welcome Diamond Brand Outdoors to the Biltmore Parkway Center.  Their innovative new store showcases their tradition of quality and service and will provide a myriad of outstanding gear and equipment choices for adventurers of all ages."

South Asheville’s Diamond Brand Outdoors is a stone’s throw from the Blue Ridge Parkway, while the downtown store is at the center of a flurry of music, dining and culture, and convenient to all the activities in and around town. Both stores are surrounded by a million acres of national forest in a mountain playground that has informed Diamond Brand’s expertise and where its quality gear can be put to good use.

“We know our customers and they’re involved in serious fun whether in urban or outdoor settings,” said Diamond Brand president and owner Will Gay. “With our new locations, we’ve created cutting-edge stores with shopping experiences where customers will find the highest quality and most trusted gear available so they can enjoy a variety of activities in comfort and style.  We are more equipped than ever before to meet the growing demand for outdoor apparel and gear especially right here in our own backyard.”

"I truly believe our new stores are going to offer our customers an experience unlike anything they will find anywhere else. We couldn’t be more excited to play a greater part in the unique mix of tradition, artfulness and adventure that is at the heart of the Asheville,” Gay said.

An outdoor company that has won “Best of WNC” eleven years running, Diamond Brand Outdoors was recently awarded a spot on the national, Top 100 Outdoor Retailer list. The company began in 1881 as a fur and feathers distributor. They created the original Boy Scout pack in 1931. Diamond Brand understands the design and quality necessary for outdoor enthusiasts in the Blue Ridge Mountains and beyond.

With Asheville’s growing reputation as an outdoor destination, people from all over the world are coming to explore Western North Carolina and are accustomed to the most durable outdoor gear and apparel available.  Asheville’s new Diamond Brand Outdoors locations are ready to meet adventurers’ expectations. Customers will find Grand Opening and special holiday sales at both locations in the coming weeks.
