Natalie Baszile’s debut novel, Queen Sugar, is “smart and
heart-felt and highly recommended,” according to Karen Joy Fowler,
award-winning author of We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves. An early
version of the novel won the Hurston Wright College Writer’s Award. Baszile
earned her MFA from Warren Wilson College.

& 9 PANEL The fabulous Sandra Smith returns with more Enneagram wisdom for
us.
For many of us, why relationships work or don’t work
remains a mystery. We find ourselves repeating patterns that limit our
potential. In this series, the Enneagram will be used to explore each type’s
focus of attention, world view and false-core driver and how these impact
relationship. Ways we over-protect our hearts and the gifts we bring to others
and the world will be discussed. The series will continue on the first Tuesday

A longtime journalist and the author of Callings, local
author Gregg Levoy has a new book, Vital Signs: The Nature and Nurture of
Passion.
Dennis Merritt (The Art of Uncertainty) calls Vital Signs
“a roadmap to living a life using your passions as a compass.” Levoy has
conducted seminars and lectured at many national and international
organizations including the Esalen Institute, the Omega Institute, the American
Counseling Association, and The Smithsonian Institution.

mystery writer extraordinaire Jamie Mason discusses her second novel, Monday’s

In West of Sunset, Stewart O’Nan picks up the life of F.
Scott Fitzgerald near its end, when he went to work as a screenwriter in
Hollywood. In its fictionalized story, West of Sunset includes other real
characters including Ernest Hemingway, Humphrey Bogart, and Dorothy Parker.
George Saunders (The 10th of December) says, “O’Nan is an incredibly versatile
and charming writer….One brilliant American writer meditating on another—what’s
not to love?” O’Nan is also the author of several works of fiction and
nonfiction including The Odds, Last Night at the Lobster, Emily, Alone,

The author of the famous book on punctuation, Eats,
Shoots & Leaves, Lynne Truss gives us a sensational new mystery, Cat Out of
Hell. Truss herself says, “It concerns the mystery of a missing woman, a
talking cat called Roger, a remote seaside cottage, and a nice retired
librarian with a dog called Watson.” The Times calls Cat Out of Hell, “Not
unlike Sherlock Holmes solving The Master and Margarita with the help of
Jeeves.” Truss has written several books on punctuation, Tennyson, cats, and
