Listen to This: Stories in Performance, a monthly storytelling
series hosted by local actor/comedian Tom Chalmers, has announced the theme for
its May installment. On May 28, 2015, a brand new slate of true stories will be
presented on the theme "It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To: Fond Memories
of Funerals, Wakes, and Memorials.” Curtain
is at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15.00 and are available online at
ashevilletheatre.org, by phone at 828-254-1320, or in person at the ACT Box
Office.
A storytelling format in the vein of “The
Moth” or “This American Life,” Listen
to This has become one of Asheville’s most popular monthly series. Each month, Tom Chalmers picks a topic and
presents a lineup of locals, all sharing stories or songs on that central
theme. Some are funny, some are surprising, and some are frightening – but all
are enormously entertaining.
