For the 4th year, the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore has run the ReStore ReUse Contest. The purpose of the contest is to showcase innovative building projects constructed predominantly of used building materials. As always, the ingenuity and creativity shown by the entrants was incredible! This year’s entries included Little Free Libraries, composters, a garden bench, a tiny home and many other unique projects.
The public is invited to view the
2015 entries at ashevillehabitat.org
and vote for the People’s Choice Award.
You may vote once each day through September 18, 2015.
In the meantime, a judging panel will be getting together to
determine the winners in the following categories:
Furniture, Homesteading, Live and/or Work space, and Best in
Show.
At the end of the month, all the winners, including People’s
Choice, will be announced. We will showcase the winning projects on posters
in the Asheville Habitat ReStore, on our website and social media pages,
and in a press release.
