The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Opens on the Mainstage: A re-invention of our most popular holiday show EVER! The six Herdman children are the terror of their town. When they end up as the leads in the annual Christmas pageant, their interesting interpretation of the story (which they have never heard before) helps everyone rediscover the meaning of the holiday. Directed by Lori Hilliard. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will be performed December 4-20, 2015 with performances Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 pm.  Tickets range from $12.00-$22.00 and are available online at www.ashevilletheatre.org, by phone at 828-254-1320 or in person at the ACT Box Office.

Saturdays at ACT presents The Legend of La Befana: On December 5, 2015, Red Herring Puppets makes their Saturdays at ACT debut with The Legend of La Befana, a children’s favorite in Italy. It is a story of an old woman who is visited by the magi and leaves her home and cat in search of the Christ-child. Befana travels the world and encounters many new cultures and ideas. She never catches the magical star; but becomes inspired, and spends the rest of her life offering gifts to children who embody the spirit of goodness and hope. Perfect for the holidays! Auditions for Seussical: Auditions for Seussical will be held December 7-8, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Asheville Community Theatre. Auditions for this large cast musical are open to all in the community, no previous experience required. Detailed character information available at www.ashevilletheatre.org/get-involved/audition. The Santaland Diaries Opens in 35below: Bradshaw Call is back to star in this one-man-one-act that can only be described one way: crazy funny. When an out of work slacker takes a job as an elf in Macy’s Santaland, his hilarious observations of the shoppers and employees are much more naughty than nice. The Santaland Diaries will be performed December 10-19, 2015 with performances Thursday nights at 7:30 pm and Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm.  All tickets are $15.00 and are available online at www.ashevilletheatre.org, by phone at 828-254-1320 or in person at the ACT Box Office.

Saturdays at ACT presents Christmas with Santa: On December 12, 2015, Bright Star Touring Theatre returns to headline Asheville Community Theatre’s Saturday family series. Christmas with Santa is a 45-minute, fast-paced production packed with carols, Santa and Christmas galore! The spirit of the holidays are celebrated in this hysterical Christmas-wrapped comedy–two hilarious elves have misplaced most of Santa’s presents. When Santa arrives he teaches the well-meaning elves that the real gift of the season are the people and friends we celebrate it with. Performance begins at 10:00 am.
