Pardee Hospital receives 2016 Women's Choice Award
Pardee Hospital has received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award® as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Orthopedics . This evidence-based designation is the only orthopedics award that identifies the country’s best healthcare institutions based on robust criteria that considers female patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, and what women say they want from a hospital.
The list of 426 award winners, including Pardee Hospital, represents hospitals that have provided exceptional patient care and treatment, signifying Pardee's commitment to meeting the highest standards in orthopedics for women, their families and their community.
"At Pardee, we recognize the growing need for orthopedics care in our area and have built a robust team of surgeons and staff who specialize in high quality, award-winning spine, bone, joint and ligament care," said James M. Kirby, II, president and CEO of Pardee Hospital. "We are grateful to be recognized by the Women's Choice Award for our commitment to our patients and excellent orthopedic care."
Pardee expanded its orthopedics service line this year with the addition of Southeastern Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, a department of Pardee Hospital. The practice offers five convenient clinic locations across Western North Carolina for same-day advanced orthopedic care.
The 2016 America’s Best Hospitals for Orthopedics are hospitals that provide comprehensive orthopedics services, indicating a minimum number of arthroscopy, joint replacements and spine surgery services, as well as offering onsite MRI and physical therapy. These full-service hospitals are then judged based on their results through the Hospital Consumer Assessment for Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey for patient recommendations and post-operative recovery instructions, measures that are very important to women when choosing a hospital.
Hospitals could be disqualified for abnormally high rates of surgical complications and infections. Data made available by CMS is utilized in a method that is totally objective and uniform. No subjective considerations were used to determine the award winners.
“Being treated with the proper level of care impacts one’s health, well-being, and healing, so it is critical for women to know those hospitals that have demonstrated the highest level of quality care for their patients, with a special focus on the needs and preferences of women,” says Delia Passi, CEO and founder of the Women’s Choice Award.
