Duck Donuts franchising company announces 50th store grand opening

Asheville, North Carolina Location Marks Company Milestone

Grand Opening Community Celebration - Saturday, October 7 at 10 a.m.

Duck Donuts Franchising Company, known for its Warm, Delicious and Made to Order! ^® donuts, announced it is set to open its 50^th franchise location on Friday, September 15. The store will open in Asheville – the 17th store in North Carolina. Owned by Terry and Beckie McGee, the store is located at 182 Merrimon Avenue, Unit 2, in the Merrimon Park Square.

By the end of 2017, Duck Donuts plans to continue to advance its growth strategy by having a total of 70 stores open in 14 states.

To officially celebrate the grand opening, the store is also hosting a community event on Saturday, October 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature a face painter, merchandise giveaways and a raffle to win free donuts for a year.

Like its other locations, the 1,100 square foot retail store will reflect the franchise’s iconic beach theme and family-friendly atmosphere. “Our first Duck Donuts experience occurred after my sister shared photos of the donuts claiming they were relatable to our grandmother's homemade donuts, a memorable family treat,” said Beckie McGee. “Trying for ourselves, the donuts exceeded our expectations, and so here we are today in Asheville, ready to share the experience of a warm, delicious and made-to-order donut with the thriving community!”

Duck Donuts specializes in warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts. Upon entering the store, customers are welcomed with the aroma of warm, light vanilla cake donuts. Customers can choose from a variety of topping combinations, including traditional favorites such as chocolate icing with sprinkles and more adventurous creations such as maple icing with bacon. The family-friendly stores offer a viewing area where children and adults alike can watch their donuts being made.
