Mars Hill University lists upcoming events for January


 
Friday, January 19

Winter's Tune
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Broyhill Chapel
Award-winning duo Zoe & Cloyd will be joined by Lillian Chase and Rhiannon Ramsey for old-time fiddling and mountain harmonies. Tickets are $16 in advance and $18 at the door.

The concert originally was scheduled to be held on December 8, 2017, but was postponed due to wintry weather. Tickets purchased for the canceled December date will be honored in January. Wednesday, January 24

Signing of Agreement Between MHU and EBCI
Time: 3:00 p.m.
Location: Blackwell Hall, first floor lobby Mars Hill University President Dan Lunsford and Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Principal Chief Richard Sneed will sign documents to renew an ongoing cooperative relationship between the university and the tribe.

Music Recital

Guest artist recital featuring Jeanette Fontaine (mezzo-soprano) and Jackie Edwards-Henry (piano), both members of the music faculty at Mississippi State University.

Ongoing:

The Civil War In the Southern Highlands: A Human Perspective Exhibit runs through March 4, 2018 Rural Heritage Museum This exhibition presents an account, using rare original letters and newly-discovered documents, of the personal struggles of the people living in Madison County and the Southern Appalachian Mountains during the middle of the 19th century.
Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and by appointment.
