Job Description / Duties:  Project Manager - BABCOCK & WILCOX NFS

Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS), a subsidiary of B&W, operates a uranium fuel materials production facility to support America’s fleet of nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers. Located in Erwin, Tennessee, it also converts Cold War-era government stockpiles of highly enriched uranium into material suitable for further processing into commercial nuclear reactor fuel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Lead responsibilities or "Point of Contact" for large projects involving multiple technical disciplines or multi-functional interfaces. Provide interface with NFS management "customer", off-site customers and regulatory agencies.
•Assumes direct engineering responsibility for specific assigned projects.
•Review and recommend materials and equipment specifications for designing and installing processing and utility equipment.
•Provide technical supervision of NFS and contract engineers and designers assigned to projects.
•Provide engineering studies, analyses, designs, cost estimates, and schedules as required.
•Consults with and oversees A/E firms and construction contractors as required to fulfill assigned projects.
•Reviews plant operations and recommends changes that will improve cost effectiveness and/or improve worker safety.

9-10 Years experience in Project Management.
Experience includes one to two years Technical Supervisory.
Experience in Human Relations and Communication skills is critically important for interface with customers.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for completing complicated engineering assignments which require non-standard methods and procedures, high degree of technical competence and occasional direction from a more senior engineer or supervisor. May provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Performs complicated evaluation of field data
•Implement process system changes or maintenance through preparation and approval of work requests, procedure revision and equipment / material procurement
•Conduct engineering designs and studies to improve process safety, product quality and reduce costs while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. Document results in written reports and present results orally to management as requested
•Provide engineering support to operations personnel as requested to help resolve technical issues
•Possess a working knowledge of process/ product technical requirements and safety/ regulatory requirements
•Develop a working knowledge of key NFS programs such as Configuration Management, Integrated Safety Analysis, Nuclear Criticality Safety, Material Control & Accountability, Internally Authorized Charge, Safety & Safeguards Review Council, etc.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead multi-disciplined teams responsible for performing process hazard analysis to identify potential accident scenarios and safety controls.
2. Lead multi-disciplined teams responsible for performing accident consequence analysis, including identification of source terms and safety hazards.
3. Perform/ review risk analysis using established NFS methods, and identify the IROFS needed to prevent or mitigate potential accident scenarios.
4. Review and approve work requests, procedures, and drawings detailing proposed process changes and determine affects to the safety basis. Coordinate reviews of same by safety analyses engineers as needed.
5. Lead multi-disciplined teams in performance of field design verification; hazard analysis walk downs; and periodic inspections, audits and assessments.
6. Lead the efforts of technical safety staff in responding to regulatory requests in defense of safety basis documentation.
7. Develop and maintain ISA documentation in support of ongoing operations and licensing actions.
8. Perform or participate in failure investigations for failed/ degraded IROFS and management measures.

9-10 Years work experience in Safety Analysis, Nuclear Fabrication, and/or Chemical Process Systems is required. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply technical knowledge to plant situations, requirements, and analyses.

Post-Graduate studies may substitute for some work experience.

We’re currently looking for a IT Technical Project Analyst, at our NFS- Erwin, Tennessee location

The Technical Project Analyst will be responsible for the IT management of the entire life cycle of selected purchased applications supporting defined business functions; recommending, installing, configuring, and supporting software to meet business needs. This position is responsible for filling the roles of the IT Project Manager, IT technical lead and architect. Duties in this area include working with the vendors on needs such as requirements, bugs and licensing; defining and implementing best practice architectures and installations, implementing and gaining approval for security of applications. They also act as the liaison between the Information Technology Service Center (ITSC) and internal business customers represented by those applications as project manager. The IT Technical Project Analyst will also be responsible for specifying and/or writing applications which provide interfaces between applications as well as specifying requirements for any needed programming projects in the area of responsibility. This position may act as project lead of projects with other IT analyst.

Job Qualifications / Requirements
Specific duties and responsibilities:
The software environment is centered on the Microsoft Windows network architecture. The analyst must possess strong skills in understanding the network and security implications of client/server and web based software. Although the person filling this position will work with a database administrator, they must have strong MS SQL Server skills in order to perform their daily job. They must be able to transfer knowledge and learn new skills quickly.
