Teams of adults and/or youths
build anything that floats -- without a motor. Creativity, innovation and
zaniness are encouraged. Designing and building is part of the fun! Rafts
can represent a business, organization, group, or any personal theme. The cost
is $20 per raft team. Registration and more information about Anything That
Floats is found at http://riverlink.org/anythingthatfloats2012.htm.
Registration deadline is August 6, 2012.
The Anything That Floats parade
begins at 10 a.m. from Hominy Creek Park and finishes at Jean Webb Park. The home-made crafts will be competing for the titles of Most
Creative, Green Machine, Ugliest, Funniest, and Most Unique Design.
Seth Gleason, an Anything That
Floats veteran feels "....the Parade is the most effective and most fun way to celebrate our wonderful French Broad River!"
The Anything That
Floats Parade is a featured event of RiverFest 2012 held in French Broad
River Park on August 11th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The festival has an
exciting line-up of music, along with food, beer, crafts and kid's
activities. Be sure to stop by the viewing platform to cheer on the
rafters!
The parade sponsors: Asheville

solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal clients. They
are dedicated to energy, to sustainability, to our environment and to our
region.
RiverLink, a local non-profit, hosts the Anything That Floats parade and RiverFest as a fundraiser supporting their efforts in the economic and environmental revitalization of the French Broad River as a place to live, work, and play.
