Local country singer to record video at the Orange Peel

Country music newcomer and Sylva, North Carolina native, Matt Stillwell, in celebration of his album release, SHINE, will bring his “Good Times and Moonshine” tour to The Orange Peel on Saturday, May 23, 2009. However, this particular tour stop has an added attraction—the opportunity for Asheville fans to star in the country crooner’s music video for summertime anthem, “Sweet Sun Angel.”

The video shoot will take place at The Orange Peel located at 101 Biltmore Avenue
Asheville, North Carolina 28801. The location was chosen by Matt’s record label, Still 7 Records, after label executive Dennis Kurtz learned about the venue being named a top club by Rolling Stone magazine.

“The Orange Peel and the Asheville market is Matt’s home market. 99.9 Kiss Country, the dominate radio station in the market, is the first station to add “Sweet Sun Angel” nationwide. We have tried all along to include Matt’s hardcore, long-time fans whenever we can do it,” adds Kurtz, “and shooting the video for “Sweet Sun Angel” at The Orange Peel gives his friends and supporters another opportunity to be involved in his career. It is going to great fun in Asheville!”

The music video for Stillwell’s debut single, “Shine,” had major success on country music video channel’s CMT and GAC, and Stillwell says he has high hopes for this video as well. “To me, this song embodies summer romance, and I love bikinis and sundresses! This song is an ode to those and the beautiful women who wear them!”

Orange Peel show patrons will be asked to wear summer attire—Stillwell encourages sundresses—to the show and can expect to sign a waiver if they are interested in appearing in the video footage.

“Shine” was filmed at the inaugural “Stillwell Shine Fest” in Fontana Dam, North Carolina, and will bring country music back to the destination festival again June 19-20 of 2009. Visit stillwellshinefest.com for reservation and festival information.
