Immedion chosen as Global Top 8 honoree for NetApp Innovation Awards

Immedion LLC, a premiere provider of Cloud, data center and managed IT services, has been chosen as a Global Top 8 Honoree for this year’s NetApp Innovation Awards. The NetApp Innovation Awards program recognizes organizations throughout the world for their innovative use of NetApp technology to enhance their businesses and customer experiences. The company selects four finalists from all nomination submissions and out of the four, a winner is determined by the total number of online votes casted by the public.

Immedion’s Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Brad Alexander, and Chief Operating Officer, Rob Moser, will represent the company at NetApp Insight, the annual technical conference to be held in Las Vegas October 2nd through the 5th. The official winner will be announced at the awards ceremony the final day of the conference.

“In utilizing NetApp and SolidFire, Immedion has evolved into a next generation data center. The technology enables data replication across our disaster recovery sites, helping us deliver on our ‘always on’ availability promise to our customers,” said Brad Alexander. “We’re excited to have an Immedion presence at NetApp Insight this year, especially as a Top 8 Honoree for the Innovation Award.”

Carolina Mountain Sales features art exhibition by Andreina Bates

Carolina Mountain Sales, A Wilkinson ERA Real Estate Company, announces the Art Exhibition of painter Andreina Bates. The Exhibition will be on display in the office of Carolina Mountain Sales, located in Historic Biltmore Village at 10 Brook Street, Suite #235, through November. Carolina Mountain Sales invites the public to preview the work anytime during business hours and also to attend our Wine & Cheese Artist Reception on Thursday October 19th, 2017 from 4-6 pm.

Curious and innately creative, Andreina Bates liked to take things apart and figure out how things worked as a child in Caracas, Venezuela. Solving problems led her to a career as an engineer before she discovered that art functions in much the same way. Using the same methodical approach, Andreina paints the pieces and parts of her subjects bold with expressive strokes on larger than life canvases.
“We are proud to offer some of most talented artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in an environment that encourages engagement with a wide and varied audience of our clients, team, and visitors alike.  It is our intention that these exhibitions will inspire, while connecting with the local community.” Said Allyson Etheridge, Managing Broker, Carolina Mountain Sales Real Estate.

The Autumn Players present "Pack of Lies"

Friends, neighbors … and Russian spies? Pack of Lies, a drama by Hugh Whitemore about espionage and the damaging effects it inflicts on both the spies and the spied upon, is scheduled for three matinee performances by The Autumn Players of Asheville Community Theatre (ACT) as part of the Readers Theatre Showcase series. Performances will be Friday and Saturday, October 27 and 28 at ACT’s 35below, and Sunday, October 29, 2017 at UNC Asheville in the Reuter Center. Curtain time is 2:30 pm for all performances. All tickets are $7.00 and are available online at www.ashevilletheatre.org. Any remaining tickets will be sold by cash at the door beginning at 2:00 pm prior to each performance.

Auditions for Pack of Lies will take place from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm at ACT/35below on Tuesday, October 10 and are open to the public. Pack of Lies will be performed as readers’ theatre.

Pack of Lies, based on a true story, focuses on the warm, close friendship between two married couples – one British, the other American. When one couple is suspected of spying for the Russians their friendship is turned upside down, with painful consequences for all involved. Although set in the 1960’s, this play has much relevance for today’s world.

Director RoseLynn Katz has directed eight previously performed Readers Theatre productions. Pack of Lies will be her ninth. She has also acted at ACT’s Mainstage in I Hate Hamlet and has appeared in several RTS productions. A Visit with Golda Meir, a one woman show, was written and performed by RoseLynn, as well as The Devil Touched My Tongue: The World and Wit of Dorothy Parker. Both shows have been produced at 35below and other local venues.

The Autumn Players is ACT’s volunteer outreach group consisting of over 100 seasoned actors, writers, and educators dedicated to taking theatre into the community. Since 1992 the company has provided entertainment, enrichment, and instruction for thousands of students, seniors, and in-betweens at venues within an hour or more from Asheville.
