Homeward Bound and PlumDog Financial partner to support area homeless

Homeward Bound is Asheville’s organization dedicated to ending chronic homelessness.  They have housed over 1,350 clients, have a retention rate of over 89%, provide case management to hundreds of homeless clients, and are currently engaged in an initiative to place all homeless Vets into housing by year-end.

The public is invited to participate in a free tour of the Homeward Bound facilities. For every partipant, PlumDog Financial, a long time Chamber member, will donate $100 to Homeward Bound.

To learn more about what Homeward Bound is doing to end homelessness, please visit www.homewardboundwnc.org. To sign up for a tour, contact Beth Russo at 828.258.1695, ext. 111 or beth@homewardboundwnc.org

Asheville Gallery of Art: last show before the new gallery

Member artists of the Asheville Gallery of Art are saying good-bye to their current location at 16 College St. with an All-Members Small Works Exhibit January 2-31. All paintings are 12" x 12" or smaller. The All-Members exhibit highlights the variety of mediums, styles of painting, and artistic vision of gallery members.

The Asheville Gallery of Art expects to complete their move to 82 Patton Avenue, also in downtown Asheville across from Pritchard Park, in February.  We invite you to visit us at 16 College Street for our All- Members Small Works Exhibit in January, and also in our new location in February.

The now 28 member co-operative gallery of local artists, founded in 1988, will expand to 30 members for the move. The new gallery space will have more room than the current location. High ceilings, increased lighting, and a stained concrete floor will change the ambiance, but the quality of art presented will remain at the same high level for which AGA has always been known.
