Local FASTSIGNS sales employees receive national recognition


Two outside sales professionals from FASTSIGNS® of Asheville received national recognition for outstanding sales achievements at the 2016 FASTSIGNS Outside Sales Summit, recently held in Arlington, Texas.

Tom Dieterly received the Gold Sales Award, which recognizes Outside Sales Professionals who achieved sales between $700,000 and $999,999 from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. With more than 615 independently owned and operated FASTSIGNS centers worldwide, only 16 Outside Sales Professionals received this award.

Additionally, John Hornsby received the Bronze Sales Award for achieving sales between $300,000 and $499,999 from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.

Rock the Quarry Trail Challenge scheduled for Sept. 17th


Locally owned and operated Grove Stone & Sand Company is proud to partner with presenting sponsor Carolina Cat to host the 9th annual Rock the Quarry Trail Challenge
5K and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, September 17th. 


Located in the heart of the Swannanoa Valley, Rock the Quarry is a foot race with a mission to bring the community together to celebrate good health and the beautiful Western North Carolina environment. All proceeds from the event benefit Grove Stone’s neighbor, the Black Mountain Home for Children, and long-time partner, the Asheville Museum of Science (formerly known as the Colburn Earth Science Museum).

COURSE - Boasting some of the best views in all of Western North Carolina, the course combines scenic views, private trails, multiple stream-crossings, and a ½ mile span through Grove Stone’s active quarry in Black Mountain.


PRIZES & RACE SHIRT – Laser engraved wood trophies for 1st – 3rd male and female finishers in each age group & CASH PRIZES to the 1st ($200) & 2nd ($100) place overall male and female finishers. Masters Division (40 and over) cash prizes for 1st overall male & female finishers ($100)! All participants who register before September 6th are guaranteed t-shirts. Feedback from last year’s race is that the RTQ shirt is participants’ new favorite running shirt. 


KIDS FUN RUN – Rock the Quarry is excited to get kids involved with the Kids Fun Run (ages 10 and under). The Kids Fun Run ($5 per participant) is 1/4 of a mile and each participant will receive a customized race day headband.

AssuredPartners NL Promotes Tige Hopper to Managing Director


AssuredPartners NL (formerly Webb Insurance in Asheville) recently promoted Tige Hopper to Managing Director in our Asheville, North Carolina office.  In his new role, Hopper will be in charge of overseeing the day-to-day operations and continued growth initiatives of the office, as well as maintaining his book of business and responsibilities as Sales Leader.

Hopper has been in the insurance industry for five years, most recently as the Sales Leader and a Commercial Lines Producer at AssuredPartners NL (formerly Webb Insurance) specializing in risk solutions for craft breweries and contractors.  Previously, he worked in heavy equipment sales for various dealers and corporate marketing for John Deere.  Hopper is a member of the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild and the Asheville Brewers Alliance.  He holds his property, casualty, life and health licenses along with the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Builders Insurance Agent (CBIA) designations.  Hopper graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness and minor in economics and then went onto East Carolina University where he received his MBA.  He lives in Montford with his wife, Heather, and volunteers his time with Meals on Wheels.
