attorney Susan Strayhorn Barbour has received the 2013 28th Judicial
District Bar (JDB) Professionalism Award. Barbour received the award at the 28th
JDB annual meeting on Wednesday, June 12. Alfred Adams, a commercial real estate
attorney with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP, and Barbour’s first
mentor, traveled from Winston-Salem to present the award. Recipients of the
award are nominated and elected by their peers.
The
annual 28th JDB Professionalism Award was established by President Roger Smith
in 2004 to recognize an individual member of the Bar whose consistently
courteous, respectful and professional conduct toward the Court, attorneys,
clients and other parties exemplifies the highest standards of professionalism.
Barbour
is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Legal Team. Her broad experience in real
estate law includes completion of residential and commercial transactions both
on small-tract levels and large-tract/full-development levels. She is a Member
of the Real Property Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Real
Estate Lawyers Association of North Carolina, Women Excelling in Business and
the Women Lawyers Alliance.
