Van Winkle Law Firm opens new office in Charlotte

With locations in Asheville and Hendersonville, The Van Winkle Law Firm announces the opening of a new office in Charlotte. Attorney Larry S. McDevitt will oversee the location as Managing Principal.“We believe that we can better serve many of our existing clients from a Charlotte office and look forward to making new friends,” said McDevitt, a past President of the North Carolina Bar Association and a well-known trial attorney. McDevitt will also head a practice in antitrust and patent infringement litigation.

Attorney Anna S. Mills will lead the Charlotte office as Principal in Charge and will head the firm’s business law practice. Mills, a corporate attorney, has practiced for more than ten years with The Van Winkle Law Firm. She previously practiced with the law firm of Bass, Berry & Sims, and served as in-house counsel. Mills, a long-time resident of North Carolina, is enthusiastic about her recent move to Charlotte.

“We feel like a start-up,” said Mills. “It’s an exciting time for law firms like ours. As the economy rebuilds, we see potential for assisting established clients and building new relationships.”

Mills is a frequent speaker on business law topics including mergers and acquisitions and legal opinions. She is the incoming Vice Chair of the Business Law Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association.

With forty attorneys, The Van Winkle Law Firm is a premier provider of representation in business, governmental, and personal legal matters. Founded in 1907, it is one of the oldest law practices in the state. For more information, visit www.vwlawfirm.com.
