AAF Asheville calls for entries for 2015-16 American Advertising Awards

Western North Carolina has long been known for its creative industries including quilt making, woodcarving, pottery and other useful crafts but it is also home to a busy and talented advertising and marketing community. The American Advertising Federation of Asheville (AAFA) has announced its call for entries for the 2015-16 American Advertising Awards and is looking for members of that community who would like to be recognized, both here as well as nationally.

“People think of advertising and they think of Madison Avenue, New York,” said AAFA president Marty Steinberg. “But we have hundreds, actually thousands, of people working in a thriving advertising and marketing industry right here and this is their chance to be recognized.”

The deadline for entries to the first round of the American Advertising Awards is Friday, January 8, 2016. Gold Award Winning entries will automatically be entered in the regional awards round and winners from the regional competition will go on to compete in the national awards. More information on how to enter the competition can be found online at www.adfedasheville.org/awards/2015-american-advertising-awards/. Winners will be announced at the Awards Gala, to be held on February 16, 2016.

Awards are an important part of the advertising industry and a way for agencies and even freelancers to show potential clients that their work meets the highest standards. The American Advertising Awards, formerly known as the ADDYs, is among the most prestigious awards programs in the industry. In addition to opportunities for professional entries in a wide variety of categories, a student competition at a reduced entry price is open to college students.

AAFA serves individuals in marketing, advertising and related industries throughout western North Carolina, providing varied educational programs, public service, student outreach and the recognition of the most talented local professionals in the industry.
