Put on your sneakers and join with community, family and colleagues in the medical community on Saturday February 23 from 1-4PM at the 11^th Annual HeartStrings event, presented by Mission Health at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown, located on the property of the Crowne Plaza Resort behind the Westgate Shopping Center  in Asheville.     

Now in its 11^th year, the annual HeartStrings experience has been embraced by our medical, corporate and general community to help the uninsured and low income population have free access to healthcare.

A family-friendly event celebrated during National Heart Month, HeartStrings will provide an atmosphere of fitness, education, fun and exercise all to benefit the Western Carolina’s Medical Society’s Project Access® program and the charitable programs of the WCMS Foundation.

Individuals of all ages can participate. Area businesses, non- profit organizations and families can participate as teams.  Enjoy physical activities in 30-minute classes as Spinning;  Zumba  (kid friendly);  Fun with Bands (full body workout with resistance bands - kid friendly);  Belly Up (abs class - kid friendly);  Boxing Blast; Partner Party (fun fitness with a partner), or enjoy your regular workout on the treadmill, indoor salt water pool, or bikes.  Free childcare (6 weeks+) is provided from 1-4 PM by the Asheville Racquet Club. Minimum age in kid –friendly classes is 12 years.  

Healthy snacks and beverages will be available without charge during the event. Only 30 minutes of exercise is required to receive a free goody bag and certificate of completion! 

Fees are:  $30 per person for individuals, $75 per Family Team, $100 for a Non-Profit Organization Team and $250 for a Business or Corporate Team. A maximum of 5 members comprise a team. 

Prior registration is highly suggested no later than February 15 for families, teams and individuals who wish to take a class with a friend due to class size limitations. Register online at www.mywcms.org/heartstrings2013.
