Jonas Gerard Paints Live for ‘Caring For Children’ Fundraiser

An exciting afternoon of charity and creativity will be happening in Pack Square on Saturday, August 18th from 1 to 3 p.m. In support of the local non-profit Caring For Children, Jonas Gerard will create and paint live to music, swiftly followed by a live auction of the paintings!

Captivated by the bold strokes of Jonas’ brush, as the paint moves and flows to the beat of the music, the audience will become a part of the energy and creative process as several new paintings spring to life before their eyes. While the paint is still wet, we hope those eager, art-loving philanthropists in the audience will be bidding on the paintings during the action-packed live auction. Proceeds will benefit  the charity Caring for Children, in this emotional and exciting event.

Allen Brasington, our dynamic auctioneer for the event, will fire up the crowd and inspire them to open up their hearts and their pockets to keep children safe. This new and inclusive auctioning style brings people together who have a common philanthropic goal, to delight in the arts.  Since the auction items are painted during the event, those with winning bids will have an incredibly deep connection to their new treasures and a story to tell for the rest of their lives.

As Pablo Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” Jonas Gerard encourages the ‘artist’ in all of us with his energetic and creative style of expression, infused with healing energy and love.  “We want to see all kids grow up to be happy, healthy and secure and so we are excited to show our support for these children, through the Caring For Children organization,” said Jonas, “and I hope my painting performance will inspire people to open up their hearts and show them we care.”

Caring for Children provides a wide variety of community based services in Buncombe County and Western North Carolina, including foster/respite care programs and family preservation services. When small children find themselves parentless or without a safe home to shelter them, this charity is there to keep them off the streets and enrich their lives so they may have hope to grow up healthy and whole.
