The inaugural year of
RiverLink's RiverMusic -- a series of live music performances beside the
river --was such a success, we're doing it again! Join them throughout the summer
for five Friday nights of free concerts and family-friendly fun at the RiverLink Sculpture and
Performance Plaza in the River Arts District.
This year's concert dates are:
May 24, June 14, July 12, August 23 and Sept. 13. Gates for all events open at
5:00 p.m., with the first band cranking up at 6:00. The headlining act will
start at 8:00. There will be beer from five local craft brewers, food trucks,
live music from local and national acts, and the waters of the beautiful French
Broad flowing right by the stage.
This year's RiverMusic would not
be possible without generous sponsors. Inspired by a grant from the
Chaddick Foundation, RiverMusic is also sponsored by Prestige Subaru, Pisgah
Investments, Ingles Markets and five local craft brewers: Highland, Pisgah,
Sierra Nevada, New Belgium and Asheville Brewing Co. Special thanks to Heira
Productions, Asheville on Bikes, and Sundance Power Systems, Inc.

Transportation and Parking
(Dos and Don'ts)
Attendees are encouraged to leave
their cars at home and get to the concerts via alternative modes of
transportation. There will be a canoe takeout at the Sculpture Plaza. So please, consider
walking, biking, floating, flying -- whatever it takes
Asheville on Bikes will provide a
bike corral for stowing bicycles. There is also a paddle-up option. Paddlers
can easily float to the concerts or to nearby Jean Webb Park, a takeout point
beneath the RiverLink Bridge, where they can lock their boats and walk to the
concerts.
For all of the car enthusiasts,
there will be parking available in several lots within walking distance from
the main gates. Look for the RiverLink volunteers in the bright yellow
vest; -they'll be glad to tell you where to go.
Available Parking-
- Primary parking area will be the large grass field between the concert venue at 144 Riverside Drive and Craven Street (map).
- Parking is permissible in the big field across the street from the old Ice House at approximately 77 Riverside Drive (map), adjacent to the concert grounds. Attendees parking in this lot can access the concerts via a trail leading from the parking lot to the concert grounds. A RiverLink volunteer will be on hand to help.
- Parking is also available in the big green lot beside Curve Studios (map) -- but definitely not at Curve Studios
There are so places you can't park at all... EVER. Seriously
just don't even consider it.
RiverLink is NOT responsible if you choose to be a rule-breaker and get
towed for parking at ANY of the following locations.
NO PARKING-
- 12 Bones
- Curve Studios
- White Duck Taco Shop
- Wedge Brewing Co.
Please note: Under no
circumstances should anyone cross the railroad tracks except at a designated
crossing. Norfolk Southern will have security personnel onsite, and they have
