Pre-Performance Discussions are opportunities for ticket holders to increase insight and enjoyment of the artists’ performances. The Intersections Book Discussion Group is an opportunity for book lovers to gather regularly for lively, casual and insightful discussions on selected books in a relaxed atmosphere. The Book Discussion Group on Tuesday, January 21 focuses on Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, a classic dystopian novel of a post-literate future. Fahrenheit 451 stands alongside Orwell’s 1984 and Huxley’s Brave New World as a prophetic account of Western civilization’s enslavement by the media, drugs, and conformity. Intersections Performances: Dirty Barbie and Other Girlhood Tales, on January 23, 24, & 25, is a one-woman show written and performed by Denise Stewart. Dirty Barbie and Other Girlhood Tales is full of universal experiences that transport you back to the best (as well as the hardest) moments of childhood — an effortlessly honest and wonderfully authentic performance.
