Name change honors support from Mission Health and Pardee Hospital
The YMCA of Western North Carolina has changed
the name of the Fletcher YMCA to the
YMCA at Mission Pardee Health Campus to reflect the organizations’ unique
partnership. The name change also celebrates the vital role Pardee Hospital and
Mission Health played in the 2014 opening of the YMCA of Western North Carolina
newest wellness-focused facility.
“Together, Mission Health, Pardee Hospital and the
YMCA are providing an exceptional experience to patients and their families at
the unique campus we share. We’re excited that this name change for the YMCA will
reflect such a great partnership,” said Jonathan Bailey, Mission Health’s chief
program development officer.
“Pardee Hospital has long been
a supporter of the YMCA of WNC and the tremendous programs that they offer,”
said Jay Kirby, president and CEO of Pardee Hospital. “We value the partnership
opportunities that we have had with the Y, particularly at the Mission Pardee
Health Campus. The co-location of our orthopedics, rehabilitation, and
community wellness programs on the same campus only strengthens that natural
synergy and facilitates even broader wellness for our community. We are humbled
by their desire to change their name to better reflect that relationship.”
“The YMCA at Mission Pardee Health Campus has been a
tremendous addition to our community. When clinical entities integrate service
lines with YMCAs, whether they be chronic disease or falls prevention,
rehabilitation, nutrition, or general wellness, the community benefits. We are
grateful to Pardee Hospital and Mission Health for making this center possible,”
said Paul Vest, president and CEO of the YMCA of Western North Carolina.
