Asheville Lyric Opera announces open auditions for "Carousel" and "Suor Angelica"

Auditions for both the musical Carousel and opera Suor Angelica will be held at the Diana Wortham Theatre on April 11, 2013 from 5pm to 8pm. Auditions are open to all singers regardless of experience. To schedule an audition call the ALO office at 236-0670. Office hours are 10am-5pm Monday.  All are welcome to audition for one or both productions. All applicants must provide a current performance resume and headshot. An accompanist is provided. To cover expenses, a $5 audition fee (cash or check only) is required.

Rehearsal schedules are made available during the audition process. All conflicts must be noted at the audition. Schedule conflicts will influence casting. Only conflicts noted at the audition will be taken into consideration. Costume measurements will be taken from all who audition. This does not guarantee casting. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early.

Auditions will take place on the Diana Wortham Theatre stage. Neither the musical nor opera will be amplified by electronic means. Please keep this in mind when preparing vocally.
