The New York Studio for Stage & Screen in Asheville invites the public to a unique interactive event that will examine the anatomy of a reality show from a producer's perspective, while exploring the psychology and evolution behind the format.
Kirstin Moburg-Davis, a dynamic lifestyle and culinary television producer, whose recent credits include Food Network's hit reality series CHOPPED, will produce and direct a live, fast-moving cooking contest to demonstrate how reality show producers use real-life characters and pressure-filled situations to create drama and storylines. An accompanying discussion will peel back the layers of reality television programming from "process to product."
The event will take place Thursday, March 21, at 7:00 pm at NYS3. The studio will pre-select three audience members to participate as actual contestants. Contestants will be given a set of ingredients and asked improvise while the cameras roll.
In attendance will be two of Asheville's own top chefs who will participate as judges.
New York Studio for Stage and Screen in Asheville is located at 2002 Riverside Drive.
