OnTrack WNC opens new branch in Macon County

OnTrack WNC is excited to announce an expansion in Macon County.  Funding from the National Mortgage Settlement has allowed the agency to open a new location at the Macon Program for Progress Training Annex in Franklin, NC. Todd Duvall, the Western Area Office Coordinator/Counselor, will provide financial/housing counseling and connect clients to other OnTrack WNC programs.

“For years we have recognized that people in the western counties of our service area have had more limited access to our services because of the distance to our main office or part-time satellite locations,” says Celeste Collins, Executive Director of OnTrack WNC. “The National Mortgage Settlement grant provides funding for a Franklin branch which dramatically increases the availability of counseling appointments in the area.”

Since 2011 Macon Programs for Progress (MPP) has provided training space in the Training Annex for OnTrack WNC’s Foreclosure Prevention programs. When funding was approved to expand services, OnTrack WNC approached MPP about renting office space. As it turned out, MPP had an unoccupied office which perfectly fit the need.

OnTrack WNC provides financial counseling services, including home pre-purchase, budgeting, credit report review, and foreclosure prevention. OnTrack WNC serves the greater western NC area from its main office in Asheville. The office located on MPP’s campus will better provide these same services to residents of the six westernmost counties in NC, including Macon County.

According to Director of Counseling, Victor Moore, the Franklin branch will serve people from Macon, Jackson, Swain, Graham, Clay and Cherokee Counties. “We are pleased to have Todd Duvall staffing the Western Office; his background, expertise and passion for our work will benefit the community and help us reach more people who need our services.”

Todd Duvall has seventeen years experience in the banking industry and will provide his knowledge and experience in service to citizens of the area. Born and raised in Franklin, Todd says he has “always felt a desire to help the people of his community in any way possible,” and that he “recently realized he could better serve his community working with OnTrack WNC as a financial and housing counselor.”

To ensure Todd has ample time to provide services, counseling appointment scheduling and other administrative support will continue to be handled from OnTrack WNC’s main office in Asheville (to schedule an appointment call 1-800-737-5485 x3).

On Tuesday, September 24th from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. OnTrack WNC will host an Open House and Chamber Ribbon Cutting at its new office in the Macon Program for Progress Training Annex. The public is invited meet Todd and other OnTrack WNC staff members and learn more about the agency’s programs.  The celebration will include light refreshments, a tour of the office, and a special ribbon cutting ceremony to officially mark the opening! During the ceremony, OnTrack WNC will also honor Macon Bank for providing office space for its counseling services for twenty years.
