The
YMCA’s annual FIT AFTER 50 DAY will be held at the Woodfin YMCA on Saturday,
September 21st from 1-5pm. Who says it is all downhill after 50? Active aging means living life as fully as
possible. Baby Boomers are not taking
retirement sitting down and at the Woodfin YMCA; they believe it is their social
responsibility to live a healthy lifestyle and that means continuing to be “Fit
after 50.”
This day is dedicated to
enriching the lives of Baby Boomers and beyond because they've still got it! The day will be action packed and fun filled,
so come on down and get in on the action.
The free event will provide a fun and socially engaging
day specifically designed for the active aging community.
Festivities will begin at 1:00 pm with a fun
walk/run. Activities include:
interactive games on the sports green, a music jam tent featuring the MOOG
Theramin, brain games tent, free health screenings, lectures, local food and
live entertainment headlined by award-winning NPR composer BJ Leiderman and his
band, raffle giveaways and more!
This
event is the kickoff event for Active Aging Week 2013. Partners
include: Land Of Sky and Council on Aging. Sponsors
include: Gentiva, Carolina Eye Center, Reynolds Village Business Owners, The
Moog Foundation, and Chi Massage Therapy.
