Here is just a portion of the letter nominating Lilly for the
DAISY Award:
“I would like to call your attention
to one of your front-line warriors in your ICU. She worked night shift… caring
for our loved one. Her patient required a high skill level of care. She always made eye contact with us to ask
what she could do for us.
This young lady even came to our loved
one’s services after another long shift, just to offer condolences. Angelina
Lilly encompasses everything the DAISY award stands for. She is an outstanding
young RN with a very bright future. My family is truly indebted to her.
Angelina, thank you from the bottoms
of our hearts for caring for our dad and the love of my mom’s life.”
Park Ridge Health is excited to have partnered with The DAISY
Foundation to honor nurses, like Lilly, who go above and beyond their daily
tasks to make extraordinary differences in the lives of our patients and their
families.
“Angelina’s dedication to providing exemplary care to every
patient shines through every time she walks onto our ICU at Park Ridge Health,”
said Roland Joy, Park Ridge Health Chief Nursing Officer. “She not only ensures
her patients receive the highest quality and most compassionate care possible,
but she extends that care to their families as well. We are proud to have
Angelina as part of the Park Ridge Health Nursing Care Team.”
The DAISY Award was created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes to
thank the nurses who cared for Patrick and for them as he battled an autoimmune
disease. Patrick lost his battle, but his family realized the impact his nurses
had on the final days of his life. For that they are forever grateful. They
wanted to create an opportunity for all families who experience the benefits of
the extraordinary care of nurses to show their appreciation.
The Park Ridge Health Nursing Administration presented Angelina
Lilly, RN with a gift package including:
·
DAISY Award Certificate
·
DAISY Award Pin
·
“A Healer’s Touch” Sculpture
