Whole Foods 5 Percent Day benefits local organization - June 30th

Save your big grocery shopping trip for Tuesday, June 30!

Whole Foods in Asheville will donate 5% of one day's sales to a local community organization as part of its 5 Percent Day. With many tubers and other River lovers among Whole Foods staff, RiverLink has been selected and will receive five percent of profits from Tuesday, June 30 from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.

The money donated will help continue the economic and environmental revitalization of the French Broad River and its tributaries as a place to work, live and play. They focus on issues that directly impact the environmental health of our region's rivers and streams and the growth and sustainability of our economy.

"We are eager to help members of our community connect with RiverLink," Tony Sgro, Whole Foods Market® Asheville Store Team Leader said. "Like the nonprofit, it is important to us to practice, advance and create avenues for environmental stewardship."

RiverLink staff and volunteers will be on site at the Whole Foods on South Tunnel Road to answer questions and provide about water quality, recreation and conservation. They will also be glad to bag your groceries and help you to your car.
