Inspecting Carol runs on the Mainstage through December
2, 2012: A Christmas
Carol meets Waiting for Guffman
meets Noises Off in this hilarious comedy.
A man who asks to audition at a small theatre is mistaken for an informer for
the National Endowment for the Arts. Everyone caters to the bewildered wannabe
actor and he is given a role in the current production, A Christmas Carol. Everything goes wrong and hilarity is piled upon
hilarity. By Daniel J. Sullivan.
Directed by Joan Atwood.
Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 pm, and Sunday
afternoons at 2:30 pm. Tickets are $12-$22 and are available online, by phone
or in person at the Box Office.
The Santaland Diaries runs December 13-16, 2012: Asheville’s favorite
holiday tradition is back for an 11th encore production with a new
director, new star, new everything! Betsy Puckett takes the reins in her
Mainstage directorial debut, and Daniel Hensley slides in the striped stockings
of Crumpet the Elf. The Santaland
Diaries is David Sedaris’ hilarious comedy commenting on the best and
worst of people from a retail employee’s point of view. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday night at 7:30 pm and Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm. All tickets are $15.00 and are available
online, by phone or in person at the Box Office.
Auditions for BARK! on December 18-19, 2012: It’s the North Carolina premiere
of David Troy Francis’ smash hit musical BARK!
This small musical is directed by Eric Mills with musical direction by Brad
Curtioff. Please prepare to sing 16 bars
of music and bring your sheet music to the audition in the key in which you
will be singing. We will provide an accompanist.
