Green Sage to open third location

Asheville’s healthy dining destination to open new location in Westgate Shopping Center next to Earth Fare.

The Green Sage partners Randy Talley and Roger Derrough founded the first Earth Fare in Westgate Shopping Center in 1994, and see the center as a perfect match for the new Green Sage restaurant. “What we bring to the area is another convenient choice for health-conscious diners,” says Talley.

Previously occupied by Tomato Cocina Latina, the space will be The Green Sage’s first full-size restaurant with more than 100 seats plus outdoor seating for 25 and plenty of parking.

With the downtown and south locations reaching capacity during weekend brunch, Talley says he and Derrough chose Westgate as a more accessible location to better serve their existing customer base, and also to broaden their reach in the Asheville community.

The Westgate restaurant is part of a larger vision to expand to other markets and more immediately to grow The Green Sage’s catering program. Before the new location’s scheduled opening in March 2014, Talley says the existing space will be renovated by adding on a deck and bringing in more light with new windows on the east-facing wall.
