Previously occupied by Tomato Cocina Latina, the space will
be The Green Sage’s first full-size restaurant with more than
100 seats plus outdoor seating for 25 and plenty of parking.
With the downtown and south locations reaching capacity during
weekend brunch, Talley says he and Derrough chose Westgate as a more accessible
location to better serve their existing customer base, and also to broaden
their reach in the Asheville community.
The Westgate restaurant is part of a larger vision to expand to
other markets and more immediately to grow The Green Sage’s catering
program. Before the new location’s scheduled opening in March 2014, Talley
says the existing space will be renovated by adding on a deck and bringing
in more light with new windows on the east-facing wall.
