The Folk Heritage Committee, the volunteer behind-the-scenes force that annually spearheads Asheville’s Shindig on the Green and the Mountain Dance and Folk Festival, announces its 2015 committee members: Jeff Atkins, Glenn Bannerman, Loretta Freeman, Bob Gregory, Kevin Hamlin, Bill Hansen, Mary Jane Hunter, Judy Miller, Carol Peterson, Ronald Rhodes, Kathy Roberts, Linda Smathers, Jerry Sutton, and Eric Zachary.
2015 Advisors to the committee are: Jackie Allison, Craig
Bannerman, Leesa Brandon, Richard Hurley, Jerry Israel, Bruce Peterson, Carol
Rifkin, Rodney Sutton, Elly Wells, and Kent Withington.
The volunteer not-for-profit Folk Heritage Committee’s
mission is to produce Shindig on the Green and the Mountain Dance and Folk
Festival in order to support the preservation and continuation of the
traditional music, dance and storytelling heritage of the Southern Appalachian
Mountains.
