Root Cause seeks new members for Buy Local Wood Products directory

Root Cause, Western North Carolina’s Buy Local directory for all things wood, is seeking to grow its online resource directory. From forest-product businesses and artisans crafting home and commercial furnishings from locally sourced wood, to sustainable forestry organizations and landowner resources, Root Cause connects consumers and landowners with Western North Carolina’s legacy of sustainable forestry and local wood crafts.

Root Cause founder Lang Hornthal has set a goal for the local forest products industry to triple the number of businesses, organizations and craftspeople represented in the Root Cause directory by mid-2015, when a searchable database version of the directory is scheduled to launch on a new website. 

How to participate:

• Individuals, businesses or organizations supporting local sustainable forestry or using locally harvested forest products may join. 
• Categories currently include: Forest Management/Consultants, Conservation, Loggers, Sawmills, Lumber, Woodworking, Furniture, Craft, Architects/Builders, Forest Foods, Incentive Programs, Resources and Retail
