“The Blue Ridge Experience is all about flying high, flying fast and soaking up the amazing scenery in these beautiful mountains,” said Abby Burt, NAVITAT Branding & Marketing Leader. “We’re thrilled to be offering this massive new ziplining experience to our guests.”
The new tour includes three pairs of “racing-style” ziplines, uniquely engineered to give guests an exhilarating ride. Two at a time, guests are seated securely in harnesses and escorted by a guide to the end of a platform where they brace themselves with their feet against a gate. The guide releases the gate, and the zippers take off. A special braking system automatically reduces the speed of the riders as they approach the end of the zip, allowing them to focus exclusively on the experience and the views.
“We designed the Blue Ridge Experience to be a tour just as suited to first-time zippers and guests of nearly all ages, as it is to thrill-seekers,” said Burt. “So far, guests are giving this new tour rave reviews.” On the tour, zips range from 1,100 feet in length to one that is nearly three-quarters of a mile long. The highest is more than 350 feet off the ground, and on some zips riders reach speeds of up to 60 mph.
The tour also features three scenic hikes, with incredible 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains and farmland and long-range vistas nearly 20 miles to the west and north into Tennessee.
The Blue Ridge Experience is an adrenaline-packed complement to NAVITAT’s original Moody Cove Adventure tour, which is consistently called one of the best zipline canopy tours in the nation.
