RiverLink seeks volunteers interested in watershed stewardship and conservation

Do you want to get more involved with your community while making the French Broad River Watershed a place for everyone to live, work, and play?

RiverLink invites those interesting in becoming volunteers to attend our monthly volunteer information sessions on Wednesday, May 21, at 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The information sessions will detail ways to get involved with RiverLink,  including:
  • Environmental stewardship opportunities including the Adopt-A-Stream program
  • Archiving and other regular office projects
  • K-12 watershed education programs
  • Special fundraising events like RiverLink's RiverMusic concert series.
Volunteers will have a chance to fill out a volunteer application, meet the RiverLink staff and find the best fit for donating their time and efforts.

This is a great way to find out more about RiverLink's work in the watershed and Wilma Dykeman- a pathfinding advocate for the environment, race relations, the use or misuse of pesticides in food production, Appalachian culture, birth control, and more.

The 10:00 a.m. info session will also have the presentation "Who Is Wilma Dykeman?"  given by
Jim Stokely, one of Wilma Dykeman's sons. The evening session will start with an informal meet and greet at 5:00 p.m. with snacks and beverages and the volunteer presentation beginning at 5:30 p.m..

To attend, RSVP by Tuesday, May 20th to (828) 252-8474, ext. 17 or via e-mail at jess@riverlink.org
