Hi-Wire Brewing won big at this year’s NC Brewer’s Cup taking home five medals – the most of any brewery in the state. The brewery’s shiny new hardware include:

  • Hi-Wire Brewing’s NC Brewer’s Cup medals:
  • GOLD 1st Place Best German Pilsner – HI-WIRE LAGER
  • SILVER 2nd Place Best Beer Overall – HI-WIRE LAGER
  • SILVER 2nd Place Best American Ale – PRIME TIME PALE ALE
    • 1st Place Sub-category Best American Pale Ale – PRIME TIME PALE ALE
  • SILVER 2nd Place Best German Wheat and Rye Beer – UPRISIN’ HEFEWEIZEN
  • BRONZE 3rd Place Best Smoke-Flavored and Wood-Aged Beer –
  • RINGMASTER’S RESERVE VOL. 1: RED WINE BARREL-AGED BELGIAN IPA

After being named Best New Brewery in the State by RateBeer for 2013 earlier in the year, the NC Brewer’s Cup was the first competition in which Hi-Wire had ever entered its beer.

Says co-owner Adam Charnack, “We’re ecstatic! These awards reinforce what folks have been saying to us both in Asheville and throughout most of North Carolina – that they love our beers. To win a Gold medal in our first competition, and to be awarded the Second Best Beer in the state AND the Best Pale Ale in the state is just blowing our minds right now!”
