Avadim Technologies Inc., the Bionome Therapies™ life sciences company, today announced that Vizient, the largest Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) in the U.S., has awarded a no-bid, Innovative Technology contract for the company’s line of Theraworx® low pH topical hygiene products. Vizient, headquartered in Dallas TX, places contracts for a wide range of products and services for its member health systems throughout the U.S. With its acquisition of MedAssets, another large GPO, in 2016, Vizient now has total contracted spend among its more than 4000 member hospitals of more than $105 billion annually. On the U.S. News and World Report magazine list of top hospitals in America, the top 14 hospitals, and the top 11 children’s hospitals, are all Vizient members.
The award of this contract followed Avadim’s presentation of Theraworx® Technology at Vizient’s Innovative
Technology Exchange in Dallas, TX in September of 2016, where more than 150
companies presented new products and concepts to more than 1300 clinical and
supply chain executives from Vizient member hospitals and health
systems. In October 2017, Avadim learned that the coveted
Innovative Technology designation had been granted to Theraworx®, as the result of the grading of products
presented to the Vizient member representatives at that show.
In addition to providing basic contracting services to its
members, Vizient also has more than 700 consultants around the country, who
work with their members in the areas of supply chain management and clinical
practice improvement. As the result of this contract, Avadim will
now have the opportunity to engage with Vizient’s clinical consulting team to
identify to Vizient members the opportunities for improvements in patient care
through the use of Avadim’s innovative Theraworx® Technology solutions.
