Mountain Credit Union staff and
members have recently answered the call in a big way to raise money for two great
causes. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the Carolinas
Credit Union Foundation Disaster Relief Fund have benefited from these efforts.

“We appreciate all of our players & sponsors who
helped us give this donation to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation!”
Simultaneously, Mountain Credit Union challenged it’s staff
and members with a $2,500.00 donation match for Hurricane Harvey relief. This was
part of a statewide effort spearheaded by the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation
and was later expanded after the more recent storms. “The response was
overwhelming which is not surprising coming from the credit union industry,”
shared Lauren Whaley, Foundation president.

Mountain Credit Union staff and members donated $4,310.00 of
their own funds and with Mountain Credit Union’s donation match of $2,500.00, a
total of $6,810.00 was given to the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation for hurricane
relief. Other donations collected in the branches included water, non-perishable
foods, household cleaning and first aid items.
