With hundreds of poetry, 2D
and 3D art submissions entered for the Voices of the River Art
and Poetry contest RiverLink is now focused on celebrating the
amazing work completed by the students of the French Broad River Watershed!
The impressive judges included
Joseph Bathanti, North Carolina's Poet Laureate, and talented artists Doc
Klein, Shelley Schenker, and Nate Barton who will be selecting the award
recipients for 2D, 3D and Poetry entries. Every student who has submitted
an entry will be entered to win exciting prizes from Mellow Mushroom, Fun
Depot, Malaprops or Carolina Cinemas, eno hammacoks. RiverLink would like
to thank these organizations as well as Self Help Credit Union for making this
event possible. Top off the day with refreshments from Roots hummus, and
Snyders-Lance and the ceremony on April 12th is bound to be
an inspiring and fun-filled day.
Be sure to join RiverLink and the
creative students of the French Broad River Watershed in celebrating the
environment and the artwork, poetry that highlight our region at the Holly
Library at the AB Tech campus on April 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
