
The
block-long structure that is Riverview Station is located at 191 Lyman Street
and was erected in 1902 as the Hans Rees Tannery. The building served many
purposes before evolving into one of the original properties of Asheville’s
River Arts District in 1996, and today it is home to more than 60 fine art and
craft studios, several artists’ co-ops and is the closest RAD building to
Biltmore Village.
The 2015 Holiday
Market features more than twenty open studios and the work of more than 40
artists. Additionally, there will be a food truck on premises, a roving Santa
Claus, and bountiful collect door prize entry forms at each studio, with a
drawing at River Oaks Studio, Suite 160, at 6:30pm. There is no cost to
participate in the door prize raffle. Happy Lucky Food Truck will be on site as
well from 4-8pm, with delicious hot food and hot chocolate, in the North
parking lot, with indoor seating available at 310 Art and The Village Potters.
Santa Claus will be available for pictures at The Village Potters for the first
and last hour of the event, and will roam the building for additional photos
and spreading of holiday joy from 5-7, and will make the door prize drawings at
6:30pm.
