Debbie Ashe has joined Carolina Day as director of
admission. Debbie recently relocated to Asheville from New York City, where she
worked for Columbia University.
“I am excited about working with a great team in
admissions, in the administration and in the classroom,” said Ashe.
Before joining CDS, she served as the director of The
School and Child Care Search, a program designed to assist the Provost’s Office
with the recruitment and retention of faculty at Columbia University. Debbie
was also the director of admission and financial aid at Trevor Day School in
Manhattan for 11 years. She was an involved member of the Independent Schools
Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY), serving as co-chair and
communications chair during her tenure as an officer. Debbie earned her B.A. in
Comparative Literature and M.A. in English from University of Pittsburgh and a
J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. She is also certified to teach
English as a second language.
“I look forward to meeting all of the CDS
constituencies and to establishing relationships with organizations and
institutions in Asheville,” said Ashe.
