Budgeting 101 class offered at Pack Memorial Library - June 23rd

The Pack Memorial Library and OnTrack WNC Financial Education & Counseling are pleased to offer Budgeting 101 as part of the series of FREE financial education classes at the library.  The classes are part of a nationwide initiative through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) which capitalizes on the unique role of libraries as places where people go for community and for information.

Budgeting 101 will be held on Thursday, June 23rd from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.  The class will be held at the Pack Memorial Library at 67 Haywood Street in downtown Asheville.  This financial education opportunity is open to the community and there is no charge to attend.

OnTrack WNC’s certified financial educator, Anna Smith will teach Budgeting 101 which provides important guidance for creating a budget -- one of the best tools for financial empowerment. Learn how income, expenses, and debt all affect your cash flow and gain tools to help you create a realistic budget.

“Sometimes people think of ‘budgets’ as restrictive and limiting,” said Celeste Collins, Executive Director of OnTrack WNC.  “As a result of our class, people begin to see budgets as plans for taking care of needs, having some fun and reaching financial goals. It’s an amazing transformation as people gain skills and confidence in the dealing with their money!”

OnTrack WNC’s counseling and education services are offered in Asheville/Buncombe County and in partnership with other agencies in Western NC. Learn more www.ontrackwnc.org.
