Project Engineer - BABCOCK & WILCOX Nuclear Fuel Services
Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS), a subsidiary of B&W, operates a uranium fuel materials production facility to support America’s fleet of nuclear-powered submarines and aircraft carriers. Located in Erwin, Tennessee, it also converts Cold War-era government stockpiles of highly enriched uranium into material suitable for further processing into commercial nuclear reactor fuel.
Responsibilities:
•Prepare daily labor report, overtime report and time cards for accounting (payroll) purposes
•Direct daily activities of Radiation Technicians including routine, special, and emergency support activities
•Perform daily walk-through inspections of plant facilities, responding to any safety concerns or violations
•Write, issue and terminate radiation work permits, welding permits, and confined space entry permits, as needed
•Review initial measurement results and flag those needing evaluation by others
•Interface with management in other plant functions to schedule safety support activities
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship with (no dual citizenship) ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
Job Qualifications / Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education: BS Degree in Engineering
Experience: Two (2) years engineering experience since BS (1 year with MS). Must be proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.

Preferred Requirements:
Education: BS Degree in CE, SE, ME, EE or ChE with EIT certificate.
Experience:
A minimum of two years design or project engineering experience in a highly regulated industry such as nuclear, chemical or pharmaceutical preferred.
Proficient with PowerPoint, Primavera & SAP.

Education: A.S. degree in Business Management , Science or Engineering (equivalent experience of four (4) years experience in radiation safety in lieu of education).

Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in radiation safety.
Additional Minimum Requirements: Must be able to wear a respirator.
Preferred Requirements:
NRRPT or 10 years combined radiation and ES&H or Navy ELT Leadership or supervisory experience of three (3) years.
