Listen to This: Stories in Performance, a monthly storytelling
series hosted by local actor/comedian Tom Chalmers, continues its fourth season
with a brand new slate of true stories on June 26, 2014. A storytelling
format in the vein of “The Moth” or “This American Life,” Listen to This
has become one of Asheville’s most popular monthly series. Each month,
Tom Chalmers picks a topic and presents a lineup of locals, all sharing stories
or songs on that central theme. Some are funny, some are surprising, and some
are frightening – but all are enormously entertaining.
On Thursday, June 26, 2014 Chalmers will host You Never
Forget Your First Car: Autobiographical Accounts of our Original Automobiles
with stories by Angie
Flynn-McIver, Lockie Hunter, David Novak and Robin Raines. Curtain is at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10.00 and are available
online, by phone, or at the ACT Box Office.
